Go Jump Kenya at the European Skydiving Symposium 2026 – Seville, Spain

For the second year in a row, the DZO of Go Jump Kenya had the incredible opportunity to attend the prestigious in beautiful Seville, one of the most important gatherings of skydiving professionals, manufacturers, instructors, innovators, and safety leaders from around the world.

The European Skydiving Symposium (ESS) has quickly become a global meeting point for the sport, bringing together some of the greatest minds and most experienced pioneers in skydiving. For Go Jump Kenya, attending ESS is not only about networking, it is about continuous learning, maintaining world-class standards, and strengthening international relationships that ultimately benefit skydivers in Kenya and East Africa.

This year’s event was filled with meaningful conversations, educational seminars, equipment innovation, and inspiring moments shared with people who have shaped modern skydiving.

One of the greatest honors was spending time with legendary skydiving pioneer Bill Booth, founder of United Parachute Technologies and inventor of the revolutionary 3-ring release system that transformed parachute safety worldwide. Bill’s innovations, including the Vector system and Skyhook technology, have saved countless lives and continue to define modern parachute systems.

The symposium also provided the opportunity to reconnect with Neil Wilcox, Tandem Program Director at UPT and one of the leading voices in skydiving safety and instructor education today. With a background in the British military and extensive USPA examiner ratings, Neil’s dedication to improving safety standards across the sport is deeply respected worldwide.

Another highlight was meeting again with Maxine Tate of Flight-1,  internationally recognized canopy coach, competitor, and mentor. Maxine has contributed enormously to canopy education and pilot progression through Flight-1’s training programs, helping skydivers develop safer and more advanced canopy skills.

ESS also created the perfect environment to connect with respected leaders and innovators across multiple areas of the industry, including:

  • James La Barrie — respected for his expertise in marketing and business development within the skydiving industry.
  • Ron Bell — currently leading important conversations around safety culture, risk awareness, and training standards within the sport.
  • Matthew Yount — longtime contributor to instructor development and USPA leadership.
  • Paul Henry — highly respected in military and civilian high-altitude operations.
  • Albert Berchtold — known internationally for contributions to European skydiving development.
  • Angie Aragon — an inspiring presence within the global skydiving community.
  • Martha — whose dedication and hard work continue to make ESS one of the most impactful events in the world skydiving calendar.

For Go Jump Kenya, events like ESS are a reminder that skydiving is more than a sport, it is a global family built on trust, knowledge-sharing, safety, adventure, and passion.

Bringing these experiences back home to Kenya helps strengthen our commitment to operating at international standards while continuing to grow skydiving in East Africa. Every conversation, seminar, and connection contributes to improving safety, training quality, customer experience, and future opportunities for our local skydiving community.

We are proud to represent Kenya on the international stage and grateful to everyone who continues supporting the growth of skydiving in Africa.

The future is exciting and this is only the beginning.
